That's correct. That's why I commend Graham for being strict on this. Just hope he can find other ways to improve the site more. Anyway, here is what I have done and still doing to make the most of it.
1.0 I choose the right category where I can drop and place my widgets.
2.0 Since I have to blogs with different topics, I can say that it is hard to get many drops if you have many blogs. However, I know a blogger who has many blogs and decided to make a showcase / blog network so now, he has only one widget to promote his blogs. He seem to be successful by doing so.
3.0 I try to make quality contents regularly so now, I earned some loyal readers and commenters instead of plain droppers. Of course, I also leave comments to those I think deserves this.
4.0 I am also earning a few bucks by selling EC points for $3 / 1,000ec and I think it is not that bad. However, I can't promise that the price and negotiation is consistent.
5.0 I am also gaining link love from bloggers who put links on their posts / sidebars as a sign of gratitude for me being their top droppers.
I know that there were blogs that has been banned and according to them, the reason is invalid. According to others, Alexa do not consider traffic from EC.
As for me, Entrecard is helpful and I cannot say anything bad against them.
