Try to visit top blogs in your niche on regular basis and look how professional they are in their approach when it comes to their blog like content, look & feel of their blog etc. and try to match with them.

Many people say "content is king" and i agree with them.. I'll continue reading your blog if you have interesting and well developed articles. Fresh contents are good for the search engines and hence it will be very wise to avoid copy and paste as much as possible.
