I decided to make this thread because I wanted to know tricks (clean tricks) and techniques that a newbie like me should know in making a blog. And I also wanted to improve my blog and make it better when it comes to content and design.

Mission of this thread is to share blog-related information to blogger lovers. You can also post a link to your blog for reviews.

To start:

In my own words... a blog is a diary-like site of an individual that is intended for public view. Nowadays, a blog is a source of income. Many great bloggers earn money regarding their blog. We're talking about big money. Yummy

Fundamental Information:
1. Choose a free publishing tool/site - I suggest newbie to use blogger because based on my experience and based on what I've heard... wordpress is for experts.
2. Blog's URL - Your URL should be very related to your blog. (unless you're branding). When making the proper URL of your blog I suggest you use easy to remember words and you can also use "-" instead of "_".
3. Add Meta Keywords|Description|Title - This will help your blog to be index by search engines.
4. Sitemap (by means of Google Webmaster Tool) - Use this tool for Google's faster indexing.
5. Link-Building - Posted below are ways about link building.

• article submission
• forum posting (through signature)
• web directory submission
• blog directory submission
• participating in community sites like Yahoo Answers
• press release submission
• online group posting
• promotional ads
• link exchange

You're on the right track... This is also what I use to do in my blogs. In addition to that, you can also comment on related blogs if you want to increse traffic and backlinks to your site.

you could start by using the search feature of this forum that is located on the upper right of this forums, then type what type of information that you need, there are tons of thread regarding this subject.

Could you possible expand on these two points a little bit?

My questions are, how do you add the meta tags? Do you add them with each post?

And, with a Google Sitemap, how would you add that? Would you just link to it? And if so, can you link to it through another domain?

1. Log-in your blogger account.
2. Go to Lay-out tab.
3. Click "edit html".
4. The paste the following codes (posted below) below the <head> tag. Of course you must put your title, description and keywords between the two apostrophes.
<meta content='input your title' name='title'/>
<meta content='input your description' name='description'/>
<meta content='input your keywords' name='keywords'/>

And about the sitemap at google webmaster tool... (click the link) and log-in your google account. Then you will be ask to put the "URL" of your blog. The after that... you'll need to verify it just be checking your e-mail. Then you will ask to input your sitemap's filename. (I'm not so sure..)Wait after few hours... and then... I think it ends there... (I just found out this webmaster tool that can create a sitemap couple of days ago...hehe By the way... I'm not so sure about your question regarding linking it to other domain...

Great post! RSS is basically a way that you can syndicate your blog across the web. Readers can click the RSS icon or link on your blog and will be able to add a 'feed' of your blog to their RSS reader (such as Google Reader). Some sites offer RSS by email. In this case, when you add a post on your blog, those people will get an email with a link to go read the full version

I'm still a newbie when it comes to blogging and I wanted to improve my skills in that particular field. I will share every bit of information I know in "blogging" that might help you guys but you can also react about what I'm saying. I'm not perfect so your comments are very welcome in this thread. Yep! In that way, we can help the V7 community especially the one who are interested in blogging. Sharing and discussing information and knowledges is a nice way of helping people to gain new information regarding "blog".
