@ yogasutra -- Yea the point about adsense is true but I would easily give up adsense to be able to make a site that I can call my own!

I think wordpress is better than blogger as it has many plug-ins that are SEO-friendly. There are a lot of functionalities in the latest version of wordpress wherein you can have separate meta tags for each post. Yet another reason for selecting wordpress as the blogging platform.

My vote for Wordpress.
No doubt blogger is hosted by Google, so this is more SEO friendly, but by using some seo plugin in Wordpress, we can give better results and make it SEO friendly.

Well, a self hosted Wordpress site is much better since it's very easy to customize.
Having a blog in Wordpress isn't my second choice but Blogger is, Blogger(seo-wise) allows me to be indexed by Google early on, about a day or lesser than it...
However, seo-wise, blogger can't offer additional plug-ins unlike wordpress which have a good all in one SEO plugin. But if your good at coding a website, then you could handle Blogger pretty well...
Personally I would choose Blogger, maybe because the challenge of improving my SEo skill with it...

Wordpress VS Blogger
I prefer blogger as it very user friendly. However WordPress offers a lot of plugins which may prove to be useful. As far as SEO is concerned the thing which matters the most is the content.

Wordpress is simple to use for both admin and visitors. I like the tried and true and use it for my SEO Seattle site as well as many client sites.

I haven't tried wordpress but as what others say, wordpress has more useful plug ins than blogger but blogger.com seems to be more easy to use than WP.
Presently, I use blogger in making blogs. Kinda going to Blogger Expert here. LOL
But wait as what others say, the more important thing is the Blog posts Content. Readers do not focus more at what blog host you have but rather, how reliable, informative and useful your content is.

My choices are
1. Self hosted wordpress - "It allows me to be myself" Java script and flash possible
2. Wordpress.com - More features than blogger.. no script and flash
3. Blogger - with google, all google tool helps
Wordpress is feature rich, cos of,
Plugins, themes, wodgets and support.

Well to begin with Blogger provides a good platform, later on its better to switch to Wordpress as it provides multiple themes and Plugins.

I prefer blogger because you are not restricted to do a lot of things here...
Plus you can start from scratch and still use adsense to earn some money from your blog..
