What Makes a Comment Spammy?

Comment = Spam for me if one of the following is applicable:

1. Garbled lettering
2. Link whoring
3. Foreign language
4. Off-topic

whenever you comment like "Hi" or "thanks" only... You should comment something related to the topic of the thread.

Spam in my opinion is promoting commercial services to blogs and which is no where related to the blog post.

For me, those non-sense comment (not related to the topic) or general short comment ) such as "good tips", "thank you" etc) consider as spamming

Basically, I would say, it doesn't give value to the blog posts and it has links to illegal sites.

I considered the comment as a spam If it have lots of links inserted. Plus the content is not so relevant about the niche and its tone is self promoting site.

Well i also read somewhere that a comment with more than 2 links is considered is Spam. And why not, this clearly indicates the posters intention of promoting his site.

I called it spammy when the comment is complelty outrages with an empty response of thank you what sover,nO contributions to strengh the blog thread with supportive or critisize comment this what I classified spam and junk

Personally I count it as spam if it's not a comment related to the topic or topics discussed in the blog or if they're posting a bunch of links or it's a really short comment with a link or they have posted spam before.
