How important is making money from your blog?

I would ask you a simple question... How important is making money on your blog? I have heard that some people blog purely for the opportunity to share their ideas, but I think for many people, money is an important motivator to blog.

Maybe i'm incorrect?

Some would choose to earn money just to finance the hosting for his blog, and some would blog for money, while some may blogging just for fun or reputation.

It basically depends on the person itself, some have the habit of making blogs to share their ideas and others do it for money.

I do both separately. I have a personal and a "money" blog. Both of my purpose for blogging is satisfied this way.

well, most of my blogs doesn't really have advertisements on them or any way to earn in that blog, they are for getting traffic for my sites, I guess that is the only importance of some of my blogs to me, but those blogs that have adsense and stuff like that, are not really meant for earning as well, earning from them is just a bonus or something, what I like about them is the community that have been created

Depends on the person. Some are after the dollar while some just enjoy the communication with others and view it as a hobby.

In my case money wasn't my initial consideration, but as my readership increased I realised that earning money was an attractive proposition. In the early days I did sponsored posts, but I'll never touch them again because they alienate my regulars. My income is now from PPC and links.

It depends a lot on your focus - how much are you willing to expect from utilising your blog to make a living, or is it more for leisure. If it is for the latter, then you should lower the expectation and perhaps try to earn a little, just to support the hosting fees, etc.

I only blog to make money and help other people to make money. But the income from my blog is not my main source of income.

Well for me, making money from blog is not much a big deal for me. I think it's just a bonus if someone clicks the ads on my blog.

i guess it depends in the person who owns the blog... some people make a blog to earn money online... some just post article to share their experiences in life (personal blog)

It is depend. Blogging basically is to share but it is nothing wrong to earn some money since they work hard on the blog. Of course, i personally dont like those duplicate content purely for money making with tons of ads.

hmmm blogging for me is just a hobby but if there is an income, it is just only a bonus for me for being doing on what you like..

In my own opinion... Making money in blogs are just a bonus thing in blogging. Blogging is a good hobby of mine.
