How to reinstall wordpress?

Hi,
I was having problem with my wordpress so I decided to reinstall it. The problem was that my URL was: http://my domain name/wordpress instead of http://my domain name.

I tried to run the wordpress install and got that message:

Quote:

Already Installed

You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first.

So I deleted and reinstalled all wordpress file from my ftp client. I tried to run the install again and got that same message.

So how do I do this? What database tables should I clear?

Please ask questions before doing it.

You have to use myphpaddmin to delete all the tables in the WP database before you can re-install it.

Is this what you really want to do? All data in that DB will be erased if you do.

Actually, I just re-install my WP, and didn't get any problem

You probably do not need to reinstall wordpress to make that move from sub folder to main root?

Just move the files from the sub folder up one level to the root.

First just login to your site admin panel where it is now and change the main site URL and save it than move the files to the root.

Thanks for your help. I finally managed to do this by simply creating a new sql database. There was nothing in this blog yet so I was not scared to lose everything.
