7 Ways You Can Increase Business with a Blog
Blogging is becoming increasingly important for businesses who want to get and keep a competitive edge as well as build their brand and grow their client base. However, even though you know that having a business building blog is important, what exactly can it do for your business and how do you go about increasing business with a blog?
Blog on a regular basis. Exactly how often is considered a regular basis depends on your readership and client base. For some businesses once a week is enough, for others once a day is considered sufficient, and for a few select others, once an hour or several times a day is necessary. It is crucial to decide how often you will blog and then stick with it once you have started. It will not do your business any good to start a blog and then fail to maintain it. You also must maintain a balance by writing often enough that your readers are not bored but yet you must also avoid writing too often and thereby overwhelming your readership.
Write useful and interesting content which appeals to your target market. Avoid writing about topics which are too controversial or too random unless these are the goals of your blog. Write various posts which cover various aspects of your business but at the same time are interesting to your readers.
Be careful with your advertising and linkage. Too much advertising or too many links are big turnoffs no matter how good your content is. Make absolutely sure that your ads and links are also relevant to the topic of your blog and to your businesses’ products or services.
Include a call to action at the end of all of your posts. This can be a question, or any kind of statement which invites your readers to comment, an invitation to visit another website or to subscribe to your RSS feed, or to bookmark the post.
Read other blogs in the same niche or target market and make useful comments with a link back to the home page of your blog or to a relevant post.
Put a link to your blog on the home page of your business website or on any other websites you have for your business. If you publish a newsletter, make sure to also include a link to your blog in each issue as well.
Run a contest on your blog and give away some product or service from your business. Require your readers to do something in order to enter the contest.
