starting out a new blog
I am new to blogging and I have heard that people do it for a lot of reason... one could be as a source of revenue, another is to blog as a compliment to their websites. Just want to ask on how you start it out. I mean, there are tons of ideas and topics that one can discuss in his blog but I would like to start one that is focusing in just one topic, I just don't know which topic as there are tons out there. How do you decide on which idea to blog about and how do you decide to blog about it. I mean, do you use other blogs or articles as a resource or you just say what your heart desire? Cause I have seen lots of blogs with the same topic with almost the same topic, as if the idea or the thought of the article were just spinned. Is it worth it to blog about something that someone has already blogged about?

It's always OK to blog something that some might already have discussed in their blog because some people might haven't get stumbled with this other blog before or they could be seeking more information or opinions to confirm their own.
Also, like me, I blog randomly about things I might get interested to and we'll never know if one of this ideas might be a constant hit for online users. That's why you need not to worry if some bloggers might already blog your topic. Variety of sources in the internet is already common.

There are SO many blogs and SO many topics, it's doubtful you'll come up with an original idea. However, as long as you have a lot of knowledge and a nice writing style, you can fit in anywhere. The important thing is to write about something your passionate about. Major bloggers talk about this all the time because the easiest thing to do is to write about something you like.

Think of a topic that you really like and that you have passion for it and I am pretty sure that you will have lots of articles that you can post to your blog.

First of all identify your objective/s. Are you going to create a blog for the purpose of boosting your site's ranking and traffic? If so, then you have to choose a topic/niche that's related with your site. And if you're going to blog just for the fun of it, choose what ever topic/niche in which you have a passion for, it's really hard to write an article about a topic you're not interested in.
Second. When you found that topic/niche that you love, whether for your site's sake of just to earn extra $$$, it's better if you have a set of keywords to optimize. So go to Google Keyword Research Tool and start researching for keywords to optimize.
Third. Make sure that you're prepared to update your blog/s. Once a week is good, twice a week is much better, but multiple posts a day isn't I find it quiet unsuccessful when posting 2 or more articles a day.
Fourth. You can write articles using guides and by looking to other people's articles, just don't copy... because SEs love fresh content! Although many bloggers just copy-paste other people's articles I still prefer posting my own writings
Fifth. Make sure that the articles you write are of the same topic as your blog. Other bloggers make the mistake of posting several unrelated articles on their blogs and whines/rants about how they're not getting any good rankings on SERP
But of course, if the blog you're gonna create is purely personal then you can write anything you want.
Sixth. Put a spice on your blog! Images a good, but videos are even better specially if your blog is about "games", "anime/cartoons" or "TV series".
Now, there are other great tips out there. You can simply search for them in Google or read through more forums
Good luck!

Starting a blog is easy, the most difficult part is maintaining it. Like everyone said, choose a topic you are interested and passionate about so you won't have any difficulty writing articles on your blog. Don't worry if others are already blogging about what you want to blog, competition is always present and you can't get away with it. You might be surprised to know that most blogs who are in the same topic are competing constructively. Linking with one another, guest blogging and helping each one out. And bear in mind that a link from a blog similar to yours will help boost your pagerank rather than having a link entirely different to what you are talking about.

It is very hard to start on something that doesn't interest you at all. You won't surely get a good outcome if you insist on doing something without any idea or passion on that thing.
Blog something that you know, anything you know about. Maybe a personal blog can be a good example.

Make your blog personal. What I mean is, it should reflect the type of person you are. Don't blog to impress, blog to make a difference. Amen.

Yes, it's okay to blog about something someone else has blogged about. But it helps if you blog about it from your perspective. It might just shine some light on the particular topic.
Best regards! (:

As of now, blogging is used in advertising and product promotion. Most blogs contain links which redirect to a certain website. This is a marketing way.

The only way to run a successful blog is to blog about what you are passionate about. If you don't care about your topic it will show in your writing and in your blogging habits. It will sound really corny but you really don't pick your topic it picks you.

Its always good to start a blog about something that interests you. Its makes it easier to write about something that you are passionate about. Because, usually youwe will posses more knowledge about things that interests and once you have gathered enough knowledge about that particular subject, you can call yourself a so called ‘expert’ on that field.
To keep a blog going you need frequent updating, that is why is encouraged to blog about something that interest even if any person has use to be long on the topic, people express themselves differently...

Try to start a blog that you know more about the topic. It is also important that you know the niche of your blog as you will not run out of topic once you started blogging.
