Bloggers are cutting into big business advertising, and big companies want it stopped.
Before the internet, the only way to get the word out was to spend tens of thousands or millions of dollars on advertising TV or magazine. Now, small start up companies can give some of their products to bloggers, get some free advertising (cost of the product) and edge their way right up next to the big companies. But now, bloggers have to disclose if they received the products for free?
What I see in the future, is the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) wanting to charge some kind of tax on the items given to the bloggers. Its going to be right there on the bloggers page that they received the item, so the IRS can go over their site and make sure they listed everything in their tax filing.
So we have from now - December 1 to post as many reviews as we can, and not have to disclose anything.
