Yes, you can use joomla for blogging. There are lots of support communities out there for that CMS as well. However, everybody is right, Wordpress is hands-down the most po-pular CMS right now for blogging. You can also use it as a proper (more or less) CMS with themes like thesis or wp-remix.

Hi,

Joomla and Wordpress both can be used as CMS. But most wide use of wordpress as CMS because you can get easy support on it and free available plugins, hacks and theme template according to your requirement.

I am using wordpress on my wordpress theme blog at bestwpthemez.com and I always suggest to you use wordpress for the CMS.

My personal opinion - joomla is too bloated for a blog. If you want something more flexible then wordpress, then take a look at Drupal.

Drupal is going to be more stable, and more secure then joomla. Just take a look at the BIG sites using drupal. And then find the big sites using joomla. There is a reason why big sites do not use joomla.

Hi,

if your are looking for a really professional CMS, take a look at ContentXXL.
There you get a blogging module which is more flexible and easy to administrate then most of the other cms.

joomla is very hard and tough cms, although it dont require any plugins which need to be installed manually in wordpress. most of the peoples are using word press and due to that it will have a disadvantage of SEO. Because Google love the unique cms tool also,

Wordpress is the best yes, but the templates on Joomla are remarkable. Joomla can easily be turned into a blog like Wordpress, there are a lot of extensions if you check Joomla's main site.

I haven't tried Joomla and I'm quite contented on wordpress as my CMS on my blog.. based on what I've read on different blogs and forums I usually see comments that saying they are having a hard time on using Joomla.
