Hosting requirement for blog
Hello,
I was thinking does the hosting company matters for blog hosting and is it enough space for hosting a blog 5GB with 50GB monthly bandwidth?

You proceed...
After success, shift to virtual private server...

5G and 50G is way more than you need for a new blog. Most likely 50MB and 5 GB is more than you need. Buy from a trusted comapny and enjoy.

Yes, it is enough space to start your blog with.
Just go ahead

If you are just starter you can go for shared hosting, it should be your first choice.

As a tip, avoid an "unlimited" host or someone who extremely oversells, unless you know:
1) That the host in question is very well established and offers good service
2) That "unlimited" disk-space and bandwidth doesn't exist, hence you should avoid using up "too much"
But to be honest, at first I doubt you'd need more than 1 GB disk-space and 10-20 GB bandwidth. With WP Super Cache that should be enough for x,xxx monthly unique visitors.

Hostgator is good and have repute.
$1 is too low . for a decent service your budget should be some thing to
$2-7.
you will find number of quality host out there and cheap it is because of
competition in hosting industry

I think if you start a blog ,you don't need 5GB&50GB,you can choose a shared hosting that is ok for your blog.

If you don't upload photos on your hosting, a shared hosting would be enough

Hi,
5GB disk space and 50GB bandwidth is more than sufficient for new blog. Later on if you require more disk space and bandwidth then you can either upgrade package or add it as add-on on hosting account.

what you should really watch out for are the cheapo web hosts cpu throttling policy
what happens is, as soon as you load up your blog with plugins and start getting some traffic, bam, the web hosts starts limiting your cpu usage - this causes plugins not to work properly and page load errors
do careful research before signing up with a web host - see if people have complained about cpu throttling of their shared hosting accounts
