Adsense For My Blog

I want to place 468x60 Google Adsense ad on the right of the header in my blog http://www.onlinedownloads.org/diary.

Will it yield good results?

I think it'll bring in some results but not a huge difference. Only way to find out is create a ad channel for that one ad. Text out that one location for 1 month. I'd suggest try both image and text ad in there. That ad will get noticed when people first go to your blog so it may bring in some revenue for you.

This just my opinion though. Never hurts to experiment with ad location's every now and then.

Thanks for your suggestion!
I would like to test with 468X60 ad channel.
How to place the ad there? (I mean at right of header banner)
Where to edit the code?

I think you can still put that size on your page. But the question is you have too many sponsors and will google allow you to have there ads because of your sponsors?

No not at all, I have had sites with ads in the right header and never get clicks. It's not worth it because it can send the wrong message to users that you are a spammy site.

you want 336 X 280 adsense block

No it won't!

It's been tested and proven that a single 336 X 280 adsense block per page positioned under the header and above the post is the "money" position

Also removing header graphic if you have one and using plain header will also increase click through rate of adsense - less page distraction

Hey aceseo! Thanks for your tips. I would check them with channels.

By the way, could you tell me how to put Adsense code "under the header and above the post "?
Do I need to change the index coding?

I think you need to change the Single Post file. (Maybe your Main Index Template as well if you want to show the ads on the main page too.)

The correct placement should be just before <div class="pmain">.

Do you mean to say "Single Post (single.php)"?
For my wordpress homepage, I've specified only 1 post.
So do I need to edit the Main Index Template too?

You need to edit the "main" template if you wan that block to show on homepage loading. More of a distraction to me. I would prefer to open the content link that interests me, and not start visiting your advertisers before getting my attention peaked...just a thought.

I suppose you are using 468X60 ad on your blog header. Do you experience no revenue from it?
