My Wordpress files are gone somehow!

Today I tried to log in to my Wordpress blog but I got a 500 error page!

When I checked with FTP I saw that all Wordpress files were gone!

How is this possible?

I never had this problem.

Has my site been hacked?

The URL is celeblogs.info

Now what? How can I reinstall Wordpress without loosing my posts?

The Themes and Plugins are there by the way.

Go into your hosting control panel and see if it's still there.

No, if I had I wouldn't be here. I don't care about the theme but the posts.
Even if I can get the posts, what should I do?
Reinstall Wordpress? Or just place the files there with Filezilla?

Do you still have the database connection information? and your passsword for Wordpress?

Whether you reinstall Wordpress or upload the files via FTP, you need the database connection information.

As you fear this might be an hacking attempt. I would advise you to make a fresh install of the latest version of wordpress.
Check your database tables and see if the data therein is safe to use.
Last week, one of client didnt even have database backup, we just had to copy the content from google cache. Incase if you dont have any backup of sql files you could still copy it from google/yahoo cache assuming your site might have been indexed by them.

Um check with your host. They all generally do nightly backups and can probably restore everything you lost. If your site WAS hacked, you need to make sure you keep Wordpress updated.

Hi,

Normally, all hosting company takes the client site backup. Ask your hosting service provider to restore your blog/site from the backup. Once your blog is restored, do these things:

-> Upgrade your wordpress to the latest version and always stay updated.
-> Change your all passwords and set the strong password.
-> Do not install any vulnerable script or plugin.

Because wordpress is an open source tool.

Relying totally on your web host's backup (if in fact they do do backups daily) is a dangerous situtation.

Consider:
Their servers go down. They have all their customers flooding their help email/support tickets/phones demanding that THEIR site be put up NOW.
a) How can they keep everyone happy? No matter how good their customer is or tries to be, someone is going to be the last one reinstalled.
b) Their higher priority would be getting the servers back up.

After you get your blog back, backup everything yourself.

If you are using (and why you should be using) a self installed blog:
-You can FTP back and forth the theme/plugins and general blog files to your own computer.
-You can back up your database via your hosting control panel.

Then, if the server fails and they get it up and running again, you don't have to wait for the web host to reinstall the backup (which by the way might not include your last entries, depending on when they backed up and when you last posted ). You can get your blog back up and running in a few minutes yourself.

Also consider:
If you don't notice your blog has been hacked for a day or so, the web hosting could reinstall their last backup of the blog but that doesn't necessarily mean they are going to reinstall a version as it was before the hack. They could have backed up the hacked version.
