I think for serious bloggers go for paid blog hosting.
get a cheap account with your own domain. promote your own domain/ brand instead of free blogging sites

I briefly tried blogger and then quickly moved over to Wordpress.
Not sure what it is, I just prefer Wordpress. Seems easier to mod and do what I want with it but at the same time seems more professional.

I both use wordpress and blogger. Its good to use both of them so that you can differentiate what is more effective. Is it wordpress or blogger.

Do you mean hosted wordpress or wordpress on your own server. In terms of felixiblity and extensions, wordpress leads. However since blogs have been misused for a while now, not sure what the coming years would see in terms of blog seo.

This is one of the most discussed topic related to blogging and it often ends with Wordpress being the most popular blogging platform since it is easy to use because of its cool plug-ins...

According to me word-press is the best one. Word press comes with a lot of features to attract customers. Also it comes with a full theme system which makes designing everything from the simplest blog to the most complicated web zine a piece of cake, and you can even have multiple themes with totally different looks that you switch with a single click.

My personal opinion is that Wordpress is by far the best. It doesn't even matter what your niche is, Wordpress is the better option.

It's just so flexible. There is so many free quality themes and plugins available.

To me all blogger sites look exactly the same.

I'll add my vote for WordPress too. All the plugins give is so much functionality. And if you have a cpanel host it's a one click install.

Wordpress - but static sites are luring me back

My vote is for - Wordpress

I used to build static sites - various ways, such as web design software, template site built from article file, site build from youtube scraping, php script site generator - you name it I've used it

I then switched to self-hosted wordpress blog site creating - but maintenance is too high - I want to spend my time researching and building new sites - not constantly updating plugins

Blog sites have lost their guaranteed traffic status in google - so it's going to be a mix of wordpress blogs and php script sites from now on - the php scripts will be pulling content from all over - social network sites, youtube, press releases

A php script site can be researched and online in about an hour - a SEO'd wordpress blog takes about a day to get online, install and configure 20 or so plugins, then there's the site maintenance to keep things going smoothly

If the build em and forget em script sites pull traffic and generate income then I'll stop building blogs altogether - should know in about 3 months time

Can you please provide proof from a reliable source? e.g. Google itself or a reputable SEO authority.
