Blogging for SEO

I am all things considered starting a blog seeing that I have much to say astir advertising and marketing. I also want to get some seo advantages from it for my domain. Should I create it as a subdirectory in my main domain?

What if I want it to have got its own identity so that tourists to my main site don't have to experience about it?

If you want an SEO boost from your blog you need to host it on a seperate hosting account [or sign up for a free blog]

It also helps to getting some PR for the blog so that the seo boost the link to your website carries is significant

You can build a blog in a directory in the root of your site's web space - that's what I've done with the currency trading blog in my signature - it's part of a larger site

If you just want SEO benefit then you can't use the same hosting account - Google will see the ip of your site and your blog is the same - and discount any link value from your blog to your site

Google look for all sorts of clues to see if sites linking to each other belong to the same person - ip, name, address, telephone number, email address, adsense account, etc.

If you just want SEO benefit you should use free hosted blog platforms using fake info, or simply do blog commenting, forum posting, article marketing, etc.
