Wordpress Question: How to get the www. back

I was wondering if it's possible to get the www. back in my url so my wordpress blog looks normal.

I heard this might effect the way the search engines view the site and effect rankings but I didn't see how.

Any input would be highly appreciated.

Hi,

Go to "Settings" > "General Settings" and check "WordPress address (URL)" and "Blog address (URL)".

If you do this, you are going to have to 301 permanently redirect the pages indexed by the search engines or you will be starting over getting a PR (if you have one) and showing up in the results.

The main page has been indexed, but other then that it's brand new so that shouldn't be an issue I dont think.

Im new to wordpress so Im assuming the blog and wordpress home page links both need to have the www. in them?
