Let's discuss one by one: Blogger vs self-hosted wordpress blog
Control:
Blogger - mostly controlled by google
Wordpress - full control by owner
Advantage: wordpress
Security:
Blogger - files are fully secured by Google
Wordpress - files are secured by your hosting company
Advantage: I think Google has more security
Value:
Blogger - you cannot sell blogger blogs. It's against google TOS
Wordpress - you can sell your domain plud website
Advantage: wordpress
SEO
I think blogger has edge on this due to the fact that it is also a stable domain..

Wordpress self hosted is still better

If you're a serious web developer, Wordpress has 1 undeniably huge advantages -- control. You need to be able to control/own your web properties. Blogger.com is here one day, but might be gone the next. Plus, all Blogger.com blogs are on the same IP. This isn't good when it comes to interlinking a network of Blogger blogs, as you could do with Wordpress blogs.

Completely agree with you. Why WP is for serious persons ? Cause you need to create/find a great design, create a logo, pick up all needed plugins, ad your ads, exchange links, build greate SEO for it, host your own files on your hosting .... Blogger is just a free blog server, it might disappear anytime as long it's free !

I am using both blogger and wordpress. In my opinion, wordpress is far better than blogger in terms of flexibility and SEO. The presence of unlimited plugins and templates has made wodpress better than blogger. I think wordpress is even better than joomla.
And once blogger has deleted all my blogs without any warning. I have done lot of hard work on these blogs. These blogs are earning good amount of money. Although, later they have restored all my blogs. But after that, i won't beleive them anymore. Since then, I am using wordpress for all of my major websites.
So I think Blogger really sucks and Wordpress rocks.

I tried both of them, but for SEO wordpress helped me a lot, and word press is better and easier in adding plugin and editing its codes.
But blogger is good with google, in my experience google prefer its service so it gives it good rank in searching.

I really only use WordPress. I like the control I get and I like how easy it is to get things going. But then again, I never really fleshed out a site using Blogger. It's definitely something I'd like to do in the near future (or at least get started on) as somewhat of an experiment.

I've used both and greatly prefer Wordpress because of the ability to customize on the fly. They've even made it more user friendly on the .org side which helps the less technically inclined among us.
