Lightbulb I am giving away Norton serial number in my blog , does it harm my SEO ?

I am giving away Norton Internet Security 2010 in my blog to my visitors , but I saw some post say that "Giving away promotion is harmful to your site's SEO " means Google may think you are cheating . is it real ?

May or may not be but I would be more concerned about Norton's attorneys contacting your host and shutting you down. Even if the offer you're making is legit, many software packages have licensing restrictions in place that prohibit licensing transfers in this manner.

No, it will not effect your SEO . But they can get your site down by sending email to your hosting provider . if you are using adsense on your site then it can harm your adsense account as well . Better not to do this !

i agree with everyone else... your SEO will not be affected negatively (your page rank may even increase if it brings in a large volume of traffic).

your main concern should be legal, but if you are not in the US and you have offshore hosting then there is not anything they can do.

Any idea where you saw

I wouldn't imagine that running competitions or giving away promotional gifts (that are legit) would be a problem for Google.
