30 Day Blog Challenge

Many people tell me that the most difficult part of blogging is making it a habit to do it daily. Because I definitely include myself in that thought, I would love it if we could get a group of people together that would be interested in taking an active part in a challenge to blog once a day for 30 days straight. If you are interested, please let me know in this thread.

Sure! When do we start?

Do we add our new posts here so others can tweet or any other social network thing? Or do we have to watch the blog listing under participates names here?

I am looking for ideas for that too. We definitely want to do something in terms of social networking, but I would also like to use this thread for daily encouragement for all of us.

Does January 3rd sound like a good start date?

Hi all, just saw Cricket's e-mail re the blogging challenge, thought I would join in! Haven't done any web design for a while, but have a family tree website that needs a kick up the rear - I'm trying to get back into blogging daily there. Would love to be self-employed genealogist but don't know if that would ever happen!

Yes I'm game...but where do we do it?...I have one blog Superpromostuff.com that I can post daily..It's blogspot and I don't take comments.

Then I have a wordpress blog that I just started where I do take comments , but it's a weekly advice column..Beautyandlifestyleguru.com...so daily wouldn't work

Can I work in superpromostuff without readers comments?

You sure can! You can blog on any of your current blogs or you can start a new one. All we are gonna do is work together to support each other with ideas when we get stuck, share thoughts and encouragement, and make it a habit to blog every day even if it is a brief post.

It is 100% up to you. As long as you write every day! It will count even if it is a different blog every day!

I'd have to use the blog I record my genealogical research in as I can't think of a username I like for a personal blog

LOLOL! That is my biggest obstacle that keeps me from doing things. Fear of doing it wrong. Sometimes ya just got to take that leap of faith and try something new. That being said, there are a lot of wonderful topics you can write about on your genealogical blog so you are set either way!
