Technorati tags

Anyone wants to help me figure this out? I'm looking for input on the benefits of the technnorati tags.

Feel free to leave the comments on my humble blog and what you think of the simple design.

Should this be in the Blogging forum? I want Ambassador opinions though

I use their tags and they get me some results from people who browse technorati. I actually don't put in links to technorati but just use drupal taxonomy terms that are relevant. They output in the RSS feeds technorati reads in. So far the only advantage for me is a tiny bit of extra traffic and no effort. I hear that if you eventually get into their top 100 linked-to blogs you get a nice traffic jump.

I don't understand tags either. I ping technorati when I post, but that's about it.

The concept behind technorati is good, but I'm finding way too much spam in the last few months. There are too many sites that only regurgitate links. And their link tracking is usually stale so the more relevant sites aren't bubbling to the top of lists.

If you place their small embed code on your weblogs, they will link back to your profile with all the tags. These tags get bigger as you blog more about them...People usually click on the big ones and these tags link to posts with those tags.

Also, when people search on Technorati and find your post, it can also link back to your profile.

Finally, good Page Rank webpage which links to ALL your blogs as well as anchor links to your posts.
