What New You Are Doing To Stop SPAM.
I am running a classifieds site runadsonline.com, based on wordpress and critically attacked by spam posting. I have to manually check all posting for final approval. I had done everything to stop these type of spam post by using plugins etc.
Thank god to “ recaptcha “which is helping to fight against SPAM to some extent, while new registration of members. But the problem is not totally solved. Can somebody suggest me some opinion in this situation.
I will be highly appreciate and thankful .
Thanks and regards
Shiv Jaiswal.

You can't do anything with spam. It's part of any webmaster's job, to keep his site clean and spam-free. There are Wordpress plugins to reduce spam threat, but they aren't 100% effective either.

I installed Disqus on one of my WordPress sites. Askimet on another. Both have worked great in reducing spam.

Blog receiving spam comments
Hey guys,
This is my first post on the forum.
I have been having this issue with my wordpress blog: I keep receiving these spams comments constantly.
I have activate the akismet plugin but the spam is still happening.
Do any of you know what to do, a better plugin, or why and how is this happening?

I merged your thread with a similiar one. Please review the previous replies.
From a older thread, I took a quote from myself that I stick by to this day.

I have a captcha plugin installed and other security measures taken with specialized web hosting.
Also comments set to moderate and pretty fast in reviewing/approving them.
If you are just looking to prevent the bot's or people using software to submit spam comments on your blog then all you need is this plugin below.

You can try to install premium spam blocker plugin. You can customize this plugin with multiple captcha, such as images recognition, add value manually, and many more spam blocker factor. This plugin easy to used.

For our forum we use IPBoard which has a built in system that is really good. Over the past few days we have noticed a massive influx in the amount of spam signups we are getting. So glad IPBoard has dealt with them all! Other than that we have had no problems.
For a wordpress blog I would use the plugin that comes includes that's been mentioned in this thread before. Its great and works mostly all the time! Please for something like this you should constantly try and mod it.

You should post this in the forum section on our forum.
The thread creator is talking about blog spam. Do you have a blog?
Or do you know of ways to help prevent spam that haven't been mentioned before or just lacking more information?

Try to install in your wordpress website the Growmap Anti Spambot Plugin. It will lessen the posting of spams. I said it will just lessen not totally eliminate all the spammers. It's our job as webmasters to maintain spam-free websites.

We do run classifieds site as well and we have added banned keywords option for our admin. So, what happens with spammers is that they want to keep submitting same URL to your site and we add that URL to our banned keywords database. In our coding part, we say if a keyword is in the title or description, then say submitted ad was not approved. We use unique code as the chances of getting better respect from search engines is a lot higher than a pre-made template.
