Blogs with the best ad integration?
I have an old domain from last year that I just renewed, but there hasn't been much activity quite a long time because I got tired of it and stopped updating it. I installed Wordpress on the domain, and I'm going to make my own layout for it. When I design a layout, the two important things I think about are SEO and Ad Integration. What are some nice examples of blogs that have nice ad integration?

He also has great tips for blog ad placement.

Not just selfless promotion, but I'm pretty satisfied with the layout on my blog at http://buy-wii.net and the click rate has just been phenomenal.
Nevertheless, test, test, test and see what works.

Nice template, I liked the 3D effect but I think you should change the header font. Anyway on my blogs I usually use very light background colour for Adsense ads and I think it doesn’t look that bad. I don’t use Css style for my ads.

My girl Colleen made the template. I was mainly referring to the adsense code in the article pages, not just the main page.

It’s a very nice template . I thought you only had the one on top. Tell me what is the improvement between using ads on the sidebar to inside the actual posts? I’ve been thinking about changing but was always scared that readers would make a fuss.

Well, I have found that my click through rates are 'a lot' higher. In addition, while it may get in front of the content somewhat...this type of niche does not really require a real liquid format and the readers are used to having ads pushed in their face....to an extent.
On my more 'serious' blogs I don't think I would put the ads in line like I did with the /div blocks on this blog. But, as mentioned, the click through definately went up from having them simply in the side bar.

I made myself a kitchen blog a couple of days ago (that's why there is only 3 blogs ). I got a template and 'cleaned it out' to give it more whitespace. Then I picked a couple of colours orange, green and blue, changed a few icons here and there and came up with this.
Do you think the ads are well integrated? If not, where do you think I should stick 'em. I would really like your feedback please.

Personally, I think it looks real good. But, maybe make your 120x600 skyscraper titles the same color as your blog entry titles and the links blue. Maybe you have already tried this and the smaller font bleeds into the background too much...? Just an idea, but it looks really good.

Hey, I think that looks a lot better.
Has it made any difference in terms of clicks?

Not yet, I haven't driven traffic towards it yet. The only people who know it's there is anyone reading these posts...
