What if I decide to have my own blog domain

Well, probably like many of you here, I had my blog on blogger.com. And as you know, the domain of our blog will be www.XXX.blogspot.com

I have decided to host the blog on my own server so that I can have full control over it. The problem is that right now my blog on blogger.com has a PR of 4. So I am wondering what is the best way to safely (change the domain without losing the page relevancy and thus the PR will get passed to my new blog domain)move the blog to my own server. If it is not possible to do so, is there any good blog software that can solve this problem?

Thanks a lot

Virtually impossible to transfer domain PR unless you use masking which will in the end, end up hurting you PR. I suggest you either start over on your seo or just stay put for now. Until someone figures out a way to do that which I'm sorry to say is highly unprobable.

Thank You

You can actually transfer all seo benefits from one domain to another with a 301 redirect. That lets search engines know the old domain should now be considered the new domain.

Unfortunately that won't work with a blog on blogspot since the domain belongs to Google and you can't redirect it properly it as far as I know.

Your best bet is probably just as Diddy said to either live with the blog on blogspot or move it and rebuild your PR. PR isnt' really as important as many people think and getting back to a PR4 shouldn't be all that hard. A pain to redo yes, but not the most difficult thing in the world.

At the moment it looks like the majority of your links are coming from forum posts which will be quite simple to change to point to the new site. I suspect that your PR might even be somewhat artificial coming more becasue of the connection with blogspot than anything else.
