Adsense 1 Month overview
It's been one month since I added Adsense to my blog as a test. Not too impressed with the results...
I earned a whopping $4 dollars. Considering that Google needs $100 to send a payment, I'll my 1st payment in 2 years from now!

Louis I think that is a good start.
Now is the time to tweak a few bits and get that CTR up.

try sticking a text link unit in there somewhere, that has always worked for me
Also dont put the ads in places where ads are conventionally supposed to go, they wont get seen or clicked

I have a horizontal image/test banner and a text unit in the right nav column.
More ads? Where? If I can bring in some cash though that the better but I don't want to have the site swamped with ads either...
Should I be trying to sell link directly instead? Affiliates programs?

I'm the one who placed the ads on Trapper site...
I was confused in that thread because at one point you mention text link and the other link units. To me, at least, those are different things.
So I should lose the text link and replace it with link units.. or incorporate both?

I don't like link units... they require two clicks from what I understand. If someone falls for it thinking that it's part of your menu they will figure it out that it's ads as soon as they see the page with a list & a google logo on top of it.
I find working borderless ads in to be a better option. and to change your stylesheet to match with what google outputs.

Took me 4 months to get the $100, but I'm on a roll now so the next should come faster.

Louis, only one text link unit per page.
Text links perform quite well for me. Saw earnings increase by 1/3 after adding them

How many ad blocks have you been serving? Also how many daily readers do you get?
You might want to consider placing a 120x600 under the meta link on the right nav - if you can add it to the left even better as I found it performs better on the left.
Those link units have worked great for my technology blog but I think its because of the template I have been using - placement is at the top with the background on the actually template looking like tabs.
You may also want to consider adding an ad block after every 3rd or 4th post but there again I am not sure if you wanna over cook the blog with ads.

It took me 18 months to earn my first $100 now I'm earning $120ish a month, and all I really changed was making the ads look the same colour as the content.
Okay so I'll never be a multimillionnaire on Google Adsense

Also, to add to this, it is sadly mistaken that blending the ads right in makes the CTR higher. Such as if you have a white background then the ad should be white and have matching text and link colors.
Well I have a site like that with a bright red Adsense square that gets clicked on more than any ads that are blended in on any of my sites. I thought ble | | |
