We all have gotten some bad comments before. Take a look at this blog post before you make a comment.

You’ve just written the best blog post in the world. You scoured the Internet and discovered yours was the only post like it in existence. You’ve edited it a thousand times and whittled it down to perfection. You post it, and shortly comes an email proclaiming you have a comment! Oh happy day!

That comment although i imagine fictional did make me chuckle. And i can agree that seeing something like that does put a downer on your hard work. I have only had one or two small cases of this on my own blog and i was forced to put an approve by email on my comments.

I also find being active within my own comments section is helpful and sometimes enjoyable.

Very humorous indeed!

I don't let rude comments get me down. Sure, they string a bit, but I generally give them a casual and polite reply regardless. Why? Because active comments encourage an exchange and are more likely to produce return commenters.

Make the negativity work for you.

Add some restriction on your blog only approve those comments who are valid on your guide line. Delete all others comments.

that sample comment was something (though I don't get shaken by that kind of rude comment lol ), all we have to do is ignore and delete rude comments on our blog. trolling back would make us look bad to the readers.

Very nice example, it looks like a spam, yet it does not provide positive interaction. In some ways, negative comments can be helpful if it can improve your skills in writing and when you've written information that lacks credibility. What you can do as a moderator is to keep comments that can be essential to what you have posted.

I believe moderating is the key. I don't think you should delete a comment just because someone doesn't agree with you but I do feel that no one should comment rudely. Besides, negativity produces negativity.

Well I see a business opportunity in that comment. I could have taught him proper spoken and written english for starters or linked him to a very good site and got myself a referral credit. Life is about making the best out of the worst...
