Single blog makes sense from SEO perspective. You have one link to promote, the main blog link. Many blogs showing up at 15th position in search is no good. One blog showing up in top 10 is good.

Not sure if I would run one blog with all niches on one, would be pretty hard to find the audience to attract. I personally like dealing with one blog per niche. :]

I would do this:
1. only create 1 blog
2. start with one niche until you have covered it in depth
3. only then add more categories / tags and start writing about other topics / niches on the same blog
The key is to start small and focused. You need to be the BEST at a small niche before you can expand into many niches. Also remember to concentrate on one blog's success before you go make another.

I think the best way is start with one blog and then if you can manage it properly then slowly open more blogs. The thing with making running more blogs is that it can be somewhat difficult to manage, I know that it can sometimes be hard to post on a weekly basis for just one blog. Having to post on multiple blogs can be a nightmare.

As google loves niche websites, niche websites competing for same keyword may rank higher than yours. Also, the CPM rate of your blog will be lower (If your intention is to earn some adsense money) because of its broad nature.
i think so

If you're really interested in making blogs as your full time carrier then multiple blogs are the best options for you else you should go with single blog...

If you can combine the niches in one blog, definitely have one blog. Your site will start to gain exposure and seo results much faster if you focus on one single blog.

i think multi-niche blogs are the best because you can write whatever you want at any point of time

I think one is much better, so you can work hard on that one, otherwise it would hard to get so much content for different blogs!

I would prefer one blog with all the niches which would made your SEO work more easy and fast. You have to write the same content in 1 blog which you will write in multiple blogs but you have to do SEO for one blog which will give you more time to write more content, quality content.

Many niches but one blog? If my memory serves me right, content websites fell out of favor with Google with its Panda update. You might need to check this out. If you are saving money and want just one website, consider having sub-domains.

having different blogs with different niches makes it hard for the blogger to concentrate and getting well ranked in google with multiple blogs is a bit difficult. While if you use single blog with multiple niches, there are chances of getting ranked well in google
