Content management for Blogs and Articles, nothing else.

I'm looking for a simple software in which I can create both Blogs and Articles. I know I can always simply post my articles as blog entries, but it is nice when you have a clear separation of articles and blog entries, for example, not allowing comments, custom ordering (not by date), another set categories, different layout, etc.

So, I want a software that allows me to post both blogs and articles.
Any recommendation ?

Wordpress lets you create static pages...

Yikes, really, how ?
My wife has a little blog with wordpress and I've not seen that option.

On the nav bar, click Write, and then underneath it you will see a link that says "Write Page"

I've never seen a blog using this "pages" feature, and I visit often several blogs using wordpress, I wrongly asume, they didn't have it

No problem, it's easy to look over because a lot of WP blogs don't use them
