Where does your blogs traffic come from?
see title. Mines around 2 % search engine , rest is external pages.
I wonder why it's not getting much traffic. www.wmseo.com I think there's enough content on there to be pulling in more...
also , I'm trying to make my blog special.. I see so many blogs , blog , blog , blog.
I think blogs are a real money earner once they hit pagerank 5.
they can sell articles , sell links , get a bit of traffic. It's all good. But I'm trying to make my blog be "special"
kthxbye

An average of 25% of the traffic to my blogs comes from the search engines. The rest of it is word of mouth, a few very select directories, and natural incoming links, both to the individual articles and also to the blogs themselves.
I don't buy or sell articles, nor do I buy or sell links.
I do however work very hard at continuing to provide quality content to my visitors.
It didn't happen overnight though.
I noticed that your blog is not more than a few weeks old. It is my humble opinion that you may be expecting too much, way too fast.

yep. I sure am. But my traffic is not quality at all. That's the thing that I hate the most. 90 % of it is from digg.

I'll try. I'm also stuck to add content relating to seo. And I'm worried that if I spend 10 hours posting , and the blog does not succeed. Then I've wasted time + money.

I have a question for you.
Why did you choose SEO as your primary topic. Is this a topic you are passionate about?

yes. I've young. And reading and trying learn and help as many people as I can. There's not much better experience then doing it.
SEO is intresting The formulas for pagerank (if there is one ) and all this stuff that's always changing on the net. I find it interesting.
and as I'm posting about seo , I'm also learning more about it.
maybe one day , I'll get to the stage you're at. Selling SEO help..

Then you chose the topic for the right reasons. If you are passionate about a topic it will come across in your writing. You will never run out of SEO topics, so you don't have to worry about that. Watch the forums for common SEO questions. This will help trigger the thought process for more articles.
Hang in there. I have a feeling you are going to do just fine!

Mine comes from search engines, blog searches (like Googles), blog directories, software directories and direct hits. I just wish there were more people visiting though :-(

I'm in the same predicament as you willL, spent the last 4 months learning everything I can about internet marketing - now that i'm putting it into action on my blog i'm a little impatient to see the results. 3 days and counting lol.

I'd say for me it is 80% search engine traffic, 20% by other means.

I get about 5-10% traffic from the SEs, but my blog is only three months old.
I don't think you should rush posting, Will. Some may be reading your blog in a RSS reader - can you imagine them reading all the 5-10 posts a day from your blog alone?
Also, why do you call your traffic 'low quality'? Do you have something to sell that people don't buy? You are getting people who are interested in your content, so why call them 'low quality traffic'?
If you want to get more targeted traffic, you should get noticed on those sites, then
I'd wait 6 months before judging whether a site is a success or not. I'll make it a year for my sites, though.

Mine comes from search engine (most), forum signature, and social bookmark (few).

Will - how do you do that? I think the key here is communication but reaching the audience in a special way. Everyone is different but a writer who can reach people universally is special, wouldn’t you agree?
