Thanks, that was what I was thinking.
Do you know if there is a plugin for this?

Adsense Injection seemed like a good WP plugin, too.

Don't forget about the side menu. Many people look around out there to navigate your blog, so naturally it should be able to get you some good revenues.
Thank You

I use a careful blend of the plugin AdsenseDeluxe and careful template modification.

I get a much higher CTR in the nav-menu but higher eCPM from ads in the content.
I'm thinking about removing the menu ads to provide my readers with a better experience and hopefully more return traffic.
BTW, I just edit the template pages to insert ads where I need (sometimes PHP is required).

AdsenseDeluxeis a good plugin .
Mighty Adsense is a good plugin as well. It's easier to use,but has less features than the first one.

I think the placement really depends on the design/layout of whatever theme you are using for your Wordpress powered blog. What might work great on one design, might not on another.

What I've found works best is to have a 3-column layout: Left hand column is adsense (160 x 600), center is content, right hand side is navigation.
Then, on the individual posts page, you can add in a large block of adsense after every post.
But regardless of what anyone says, your best plan is to try a whole bunch of things and see what works best for your blog.

I agree that it really depends on the the design as well as the content of your website. I've heard good things about the Mighty Adsense plug in as you can chose different placements from my understanding.

Thanks! I will have to try this for a new website I am developing. I can put the ads in the right hand side. Does everyone know there have been studies that people read in an F pattern? This means that the navigation should be on the right hand side.

Yeah I've seen the "F" layout of where they believe our eyes go. If you believe that it is accurate, then it's probably a good indicator that some sort of banner or sub-header image text link bar is a good location for adsense. I've started placing my adsense just above my top post and into my sidebar on all my blogs.
It's paying off, I'm getting more clicks.
Adsense deluxe is a nice plugin that's very easy to use, but I don't know how worthwhile it really is. It's probably not a bad idea, seeing that it's free and easy, but you can only have 3 matching adsense ads on a single page so you have to put into your posts after the page break. Which means if people are just scrolling down through all of your titles, they're not going to see a lot of adsense unless they start to open up and click on your individual posts. It's limiting, IMO.
I'd run a header unit, sidebar unit, and then use adsense deluxe to put an extra unit in each post. that's 3.
