6 Crucial Tips Before You Accept Guest Posts

Most people have no clue how to do guest blog posting or even how to create a editorial guide for what you are looking for with any other rules for submitting.

Let me know your thoughts on the blog post and own tips that you preach to people online.

Quote:
Guest posting can*be an incredibly valuable marketing tactic. For most, guest posting is all about publishing your content on other websites. However, there is also a big opportunity when you allow others to guest post on your website.

Accepting guest posts is a great way to grow your blog without having to do a ton of work. Guest posters will share their content when itís published and will subsequently promote*your blog. Free marketing! That free marketing can*lead to more social media shares and, hopefully, links to your site.

These guest post dependent blogs are 99% abused by spammers and SEO consultants, as their purpose is to get backlink from site and such content obviously doesn't add any value for your readers. As you expect to enrich a site with guest bloggers, there must be strict attempts we should focus on .. of allowing guest posts from authors who have strong social media profiles (at least on LinkedIn, Google plus, Facebook and Twitter) and i feel using copyscape pro is best tool to detect unique content.

If your most visitors comes to read content published by you till now as they got to like your way of style as because they consider you an expert, do not depend completely upon guests, in other words you still need to publish your own content and in-between the publishing dates.

Guest post is an effective way to increase backlinks. Some blogger owner will accept the low-quality post if they bring money. Moreover, some blog was created for the goal earning money.

Thank you for these tips, snakeair! Will keep them in mind.

I've also tried guest posting as a way to increase my blog/website traffic. When I first started my blog, I connected with some influencers immediately. I convinced them to be my first guest posters. After they wrote articles on my blog, and after we promoted it, my website traffic increased tenfold.

I really hate when I see websites who have just accepted guest blogs for the content.

I don't think most of the websites these days accepting guest posts have an editorial process in place.

In most of the cases, 80% of the people are using guest post service just to get a better backlink and nothing else. They never focus on content quality and niche. As per my experience, some are never read guidelines and just pitch any random niche posts for particular sites. I have a bad experience from a guy who never read guidelines on my blog. My blog is all related to pure computer programming and technology trends, But he always sends me direct request related to Shopping, Life Style, Fashion and Home Decor relatd niche. It annoys me every time.

So as per my experience, we must try to focus on guest blogging not for the link building but for the authorship. We must try to create a high quality article related to latest trends and pitch to high authority sites without link building strategy. Once we got much resource in which we approved quality posts then we start to move on link building strategy but never disappoint the site admin for the content quality.

Fair enough. Moreover, I think getting backlink from a related niche is the main deal otherwise it would definitely harm your site.

I like doing guest blog post since it does put my name out in a niche as a credible source. I will only put links if it fits well in the article. If it doesn't make sense to put a link in the body of the article I will just add an "about author" at the bottom and include my link.

As far as accepting blog post I try and maintain a rule of 1 link for every 500 words so it pushes the guest blogger to write at least 1000 words to get 2 links. I do read and do apply some edits if necessary.

Lightbulb Guidelines that I have made for Guest posting

I have a website of my own and I have created the following guidelines for those who are willing to post on my website

1. Content should be of high quality free from Plagiarism

2. Only one backlink in the authors Bio at the end of the article

3. Prohibited content not allowed - I don't entertain content like Gambling, Casino, adult content.

4. The content should not be spinned.

5. The article should be properly researched and have a proper tone which will engage with the user.

It is fair deal when someone want a backlink by posting a guest post on any blog. As a blogger you need to build up professional relations with the blogger. But sometimes you need to be careful while accepting guest blog post. Because i had bad experience in past. Some blogger have just spin other article and submitted to me for a guest post. I realized when the original blogger had asked me to take that content down because it was a spin article.

Though i removed it immediately. But you need to really careful when you accept any guest blog post.

I'm trying to do #2 and #4 for my site. Coming up with standardized set of guidelines and incentive schemes to get other people to write for site. Nobody works without incentives so it's important to let other bloggers know what's in it for them. At the same time, you need to have rules or everything will go haywire.

Thanks for sharing this article!
I think link exchanges work too when there is a thrid party involved., that way we can
all link to each other and get all the value from the links.
