Author recognition in wordpress

I have some friends set up as blog authors for a couple of my blogs now and I'd like to give them the same recognition. I'd like their 'name' to be a hyperlink to their own sites. What file do I need to customize?

I wonder how many bloggers have been recognized by big publishing companies? What do you do if that happens? How much money do the big publishers make as opposed to if the writer self-published. There is a real movement afoot to pull away from large corporations.

One more thing...I remember years ago, when the personal computer first came out, this statement was uttered “the personal computer will level hierarchies”...and that is exactly what it’s doing! The graphic design industry, journalist and photography industries are all affected by everyone doing their own creative work. Why go to school if Jane Doe just picks it up and sells herself as a graphic designer to a corporation but they don’t know any better?

there is always a balancing. While this may be true, there will be experts available and when the amatuers aren't cutting it people will look for quality over quantity.

Looks like the author should already come up, everything else comes up in that sequence correctly. Could I be missing something in my dashboard?

OK, when I open an post into it's own page I have it setup to hyperlink from the authors name to their own site now. excellent. I just need to do the same for the blog index and I'm set... stay tuned.

Cool. I was able to make some progress. I've got it calling up the author now, but do you know the tag to make it call up the authors site that she manually entered into the dashboard? I set up to just follow an href for now, but that links all authors to her site... LOL

Ok, I've got it figured out. Instead of the way you had it above...change it to this:

Change it in both the single.php file and index.php file. It will thus link the author's name to whatever URL they fill in on their wordpress profile.

I tested it on my site and it works. Glad you had this question cuz I was wondering myself, but had been too lazy up til this point to actually investigate or even attempt to figure it out.
