I love getting ideas from reddit threads. Does that make me a hack? In the quest for fresh, relevant content you either run out of ideas or become the content monster you always feared most.

I think looking at your competitors is sometimes a really good push to come up with a new idea. Sometimes if using the same topic and trying to outperform them in making your content/article more valuable.

I used to find my blog post ideas from these resources.

Analyze your blog: The idea is great because this analysis allows you to find your current benchmark. What type of content you have created and what would be your next content type. It could be either a whole SERIES of a particular category or top list articles. So, I think it’s important to analyse your blog.

Twitter: Use Twitter to discover the content that matches your blog niche.
Use Pinterest to find the top list articles

Join Facebook groups, Quora and forums to interact with the audience to know what people are missing out there.
Buzzsumo is another excellent choice for marketers to find the most viral and engaging content on social media.

I can usually bounce off of other peoples problems and then write an article/blog explaining how to do it.

For example caching a website and adding CDN can be quite a lengthy process so I just blogged it step by step to integrate into a website.

Very helpful for someone who knows very little or has little understanding how to use .htaccess and other tools.
