Just banned from wordpress. Be carefull!
I woke up this morning expecting to move my wordpress blog over to our servers and apply a different domain to it, only to find that word press disabled my account. Now mind you I just started it 10 days a go:
Hi,
We don't permit sites that have SEO as their main content.
Additionally I saw at least 1 ad and a couple of affiliate links.
I'm sorry but for what you want a blog for we are not the site for you...

Mark
No SEO content? No affiliate links? Has anyone seen wordpress lately?
I read all the rules and there was no mention that the SEO industry was not allowed to have a personal page, nor was there anything about the thousands of blogs, adult and mainstream that have affiliate content and links on them.
As far as their rules go, It was all good.
Beware of wordpress. I only had my personal page up for 10 days.

Read carefully, it wasn't on his own hosting.
You probably violated this:

Yeah maybe, but the first line of the letter "we do not allow sites that have SEO as their content," really got my goat.
I don't understand that.
Are they saying that if you provide SEO services , you are not welcome to discuss it here?

and why is that? If you are putting some seo tips, tricks and qualitative post regarding seo that can help the community why not?

I wonder if they meant that as main intent, rather than content. Because I think they would allow people to discuss SEO. They probably just dont' want the free hosting abused.

No. Its just that I was up late the night before it happened laying down some great content, and the last thing I said was :
"I gotta put this on our servers in the morning and use it for my own page"
I didn't save it, or anything. I got up the next morning all exited, and it was gone.
Banned.
Deactivated.
Finito.
The worst part is, I cant remember how I had the words structured that , in my opinion, were extremely effective.

Why? Those blogs exist everywhere. The point of the Wordpress free blog hosting is so people who can't get a blog hosted other places have a place to host one.

Some one else told me that they don't allow their free blogs to have anything "commercial". But I thought it was strange that they said "SEO' and not "Commercial".
As far as the authors link and a link to wordpress.
Some of the feed back is, you don't have to, but if you are going to use the free template, then give the creator his props.
It doesn't bother me because the only people that know what it means is people like us, and we understand and dont mind. Clients outside the industry don't have a clue.
Now the big pain is, now that I have downloaded wordpress onto my own server, I can't just transfer my blog.
It is a pain in the ass. If anyone has any help thats a little more clear, than WordPress'.
I'm all ears.
