Wordpress ping again on edit

Is there a way to have Wordpress ping again on an edit? I like to put a summary of what my show is going to be about sometime before lunch and I edit the post later with the playlist.

Are you sure that wordpress doesn't ping on edits? I always thought it did.

The reason being that many times my posts & edits would "hang" because the services to which I was automatically pinging (ie; pinggoat, ping-o-matic; etc) would take their sweet time returning a response to wordpress ... or be down and not reply at all.

This would piss me off, so I removed the automatic pinging and started pinging manually. When I did the "hanging" for both new posts & edits stopped.

Maybe it does and I just wasn't noticing.

I did some searching after the fact, and yes, it does appear that edits are pinged.
