Banning the user! Need Advice for amateur blog/chat admin

Sup everyone!

This is my first official site that started to bloom (20 members in 2-3 weeks). People mostly come to chat and half of those people actually uses the forums.

Here's my story:
There's 1 user who is a regular to the site, she is very helpful in the community but she sure have some foul mouth in the chat room. She gives me great suggestions to improve the site and I did take her advice 90% of the time! Anyways, I assigned Admin rights to several people I trust and the most trusted Admin decided to ban her because she made threats and severe offensive words to other chatter. Personally I know that she's no harm to others and that's just the way she talks. But, some people felt very offended by it thus.. the Admin had to ban her. For me, I'm kind of 50/50 in this issue.. I feel really bad that she left the community yet.. I have to cut the line somewhere for TOS.

Just wondering how you guys deal with this and any kind of blog admin advice would be very much appreciated!

If I bring her back.. the Admin who banned her will be offended/possibly quit the site. I guess the site has to set a example. I have a feeling I'll have to make hard decisions more to come!

You are in terrible situation now.
A wise decision can make a smooth working of your site and wrong decision can blow up your site.

You know, I never know how these stuff work, but you can first talk to her, you can as well ban her for a week, then let her come back, it is like a notice, talk to her and tell her what is going on, don't state names, but I think she will understand, this is the best way in my opinion.

Yeah wish I could do that. As of now, she deleted the accoutn by herself and left a note she'll never be back... Just wondering if I should try to e-mail to bring her back.. or just let it be... yeah it's very sticky situation!!! she was very loyal to the site too. I'm pretty sure if I told her to keep it mature and no calling, I'm sure she'll leave anyways... ah~~ she was giving me emoticons and reference site to give me an idea what to do next. It was a great loss. So should I try to bring her back anyways? I do have her e-mail address.

Had no clue that I've had to deal with this so early! the site is not even 1 month old.

Well, if you are interested in her, you can always mail her back.
Each person have his own decisions, I think you can tell her what happen if you really are interested, she can be one of your staff as well, well, just an idea, good luck here.

well.. her's what i would do, if she is BIG contributor to the forum then i would try to smooth things between both the admin and her but is she is just a personal advisor to what you can do to improve the site then try to patch up things between you and her. Make her realize that there have to be some ristrictions that you have to play by on the website or else you will have no member to continue with anything.... hope this helps you

Yeah, I managed to smooth between her and the Admin. She admitted her own fault~ and came back to the site!!! After that, I have used the reverse psychology technique, make her as Admin. This way she must represent as good citizen at my blog! So far, it's working!! she's behaving at chat room. She did kick someone from the chat.. and lost 1 member but I did reprimand her action. Overall, the outcome was good. If she keeps kicking the chatters, i'll take away her power.
