Integrate Blog into Existing Home Page?

How can I integrate a simple blog into an existing site? I'd like it to match the rest of the site, but only want it to show up on the home page. I have no experience with PHP or SQL, so please provide detailed instructions a newbie can understand.

Thanks for the link, Bobchrist. I used an open source theme to make my site, and although I've learned a little html, I don't have the skills to create a word press theme from scratch. Is there a way to do this that doesn't require a huge time investment for a newbie?

it depends I first started with an all in one site similar to pluginprofits, but then I decided to sperate everything and keep a blog a blog on a seperate domain, clickbank on another, marketing articles on another, etc - and I ususally just back link to one another

I made them both unique and more intriguing to the user

Hey - thanks for the excellent advice guys.

I tried out something called Cutenews and guess what, it actually worked the first time! That doesn't happen very often for me.

I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick painless solution for blog integration.
