Topics to Blog About

What ways have you found that help you come up with (or choose) topics to blog about?

My "fun" blog is about music, specifically house music.
I grew up listening to it, and was on the "front lines" sort o speak, growing up in Detroit, (the birthplace of Techno - no arguments please from those under 30).
So far I don't have a hard time finding topics that relate to House...my problem is keeping them short.

I have a few things planned for it that are going to be "Sweet"...(sorry, I can't share the secrets).
Since it is such a big part of my life, and I have followed , listened, downloaded, House music for years, I could probably write about it, or things that relate to it,and clubbing for years to come.

I noticed on your blog that you have it available in multiple languages, Did you do each language or is it a service

Since we are talking about "How to find subjects to Blog about",
I had to share this, it was just too Awesome!!!

Ok, so I finally got the Travel Engine linked into my blog. It gives my readers access to every available internet rate for every travel, flight, cruise and lodging option in the world. I'm very exited about it.

It is one of the most important aspects of my blog to incorporate Dance Music, and Travel, and the one thing that I have been waiting to integrate.

So as I'm sitting around trying to figure out how to announce it on my blog, and coming up with "squat". BAM! I get a press release in my email box.

Chicago is the birthplace of House Music, and DJ Frankie Knuckles of Chicago, is the undisputed Godfather of House Music. Period.

Well......He just release a podcast of his favorite places to visit in Chicago for the Chicago Travel and Tourism Board.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THE TIMING!!

A press release that encompasses everything that my blog is about:
Dance Music, DJ's, Travel, Music Downloads and Podcasts. and it just came out today.
The day I need something to blog about.

I have never been so lucky in my entire life.
Talk about timing!

I consider it a sign from the almighty, (no not Google), and I just had to share it with people who will understand.

WOW!
Now that's how you find stuff to blog about!!

Nope! It's a word press plug in called "Global Translator". There are a few of them.
It does Google translation and Babel Fish. You set it to which, as well as the display flags.
I like it. I have noticed quite a bit of inbound traffic from the translated pages, and it gives me a few hundred more indexed pages, that are not viewed as duplicate content

It currently only supports 13 languages, but the important ones are there for my demographic.

Write about things that interest you or things that you have a good understanding and knowledge.

If it's a personal blog I write what ever topics that come into my mind. But if my blog has specific topics I post related topics that I think that will caught the readers attention.

for me it'll be what really interest me...right now i'm focused on my television shows blog but later i'll come up with my movie blog...hehehe...i actually listed some of the movies i might create article for my blog...

It is always easier to maintain personal blogs since you are free to post what ever you want about you!

I set-up Google Alerts for each of my niche so its easier to see what other people are saying. Brings lots of ideas for new posts.

I do blog on things that I know very well. This is one of the key factors to make your blog successful.

I usually write about history, nature, and music. But only about things that I know very well. Otherwise I would find myself copying from another article and I don't support doing that.
