I need your opinions
In your opinions...Is it annoying when a blog opens with music, or is it OK if it is within the theme of the blog?
Just curious to differing opinions.

If you mean music that automatically plays when the page opens, then yes, I find that VERY annoying and distracting.
At one point I had a Flash site that contained buttons with rollover sounds. I received quite a few complaints that the sounds interfered with people listening to their online audio.
If you really want music, either have a option to shut it off or have it off by default and allow viewers to turn it on if they want.

I also find it annoying because I am usually listening to CD's on my computer and then when I go to a site with music playing it totally Blows it for me...

It's annoying and it slows down loading time. I suggest that you turn it off by default and let the browser decide if he/she wants to listen to it or not.

Depend on the music, if it is light, pleasant, I don't think it will be annoying since you are in blog. Most of the time I enjoy visiting myspace blogs listening the music that automatically plays when the page opens. However my view is subjective though.

I consider embedded music in any webpage a MAJOR design flaw. It's more acceptable if you give the visitor allowance to start the music, if you must have music.
Just my browsing opinion, of course.

that's annoying...if you'll do that it shouldn't play as soon as the site load maybe it'll be okay if there will be an option on which the user will choose to play it or not...

Yeah, I thought so, it's hard to follow your own advice when you are doing a personal project.
I thought some consideration could be made since it is such a specific niche', but the rules still apply.
Thanks

Well, it really depends, if it was a hot music, I probably won't really mind and would just mute/pause the music I was playing earlier and listen to what the blogger had uploaded to his/her blog.
Sometimes, some bloggers choose a bg sound that would match the feeling of reading his/her blog, so it really, really depends.

What she said. Never put any music or video on your website in auto-play mode. If you do, be assured that you are doing the best to keep your visitors away from your site.

If someone wants to have music or videos on their site that's fine, but I'd rather have the option of turning it on myself rather than autoplay. Autoplay sites are annoying.

I also find that annoying, most especially if the sounds is not relevant to your blog. Aside from that, adding sound effects on your blog may slow down the loading of the page. If that would happen, your visitors will not visit again your blog..

Playing background may be annoying but some visitors may like classical music in background
Let's suppose you have a background music.
There is would be a problem when the user clicks on a link. The music will start again from the beginning. One solution would be to start a popup window and play a music from it, this would trigger another problem with popup blockers - the new windows may never show up. One solution to this would be to use frames to play the sound this would lead to a problem with search engines and a drop in your page rank...
The conclusion is that background sound/noise can be lead to problems.
