Wordpress VS IPB Blog

[removed link] is the site, for which members I want to have a blog. Many of my members will create their own blogs, located on my host. To do this I need to compare two options:

1. Either I buy IPB blog and pay 50$ a year [20$ from the second year]
2. or install wordpress.

I mainly know what the first option is about ...
But know nothing about the second one ...

Please advice, does wordpress have enough features to choose it? What main benefits are?

i have't much idea about IPB but have been using Word Press for some time. I think wordpress can be used easily for any professional project;

as you have some expericen please answer ...
IPB forum is installed once and you can enable all the members of the forum to create their own blogs.

If I install wordpress on my server, does it allow multipze accounts creation for my users?

Install WordPress MU instead.

Damn,
my host said it has Apache which is of an earlier version than needed for Wordpress MU

Wordpress MU is cool, but you don't get all the other bits that IPB have (example .. a messageboard)

So it really depends on whether you're putting up a messageboard with associated blogs .. or a blogging server that does nothing by blogs.

i using wordpress on almost 10 of my blog, and its very easy to install.
fast. reliable. easy update. and most importantly there is many plugin to add in new features.

definately get a cpanel hosting with fantastico. installing wordpress is just a few clicks away. no hassle.

never heared about IPB but can say that wordpress is the best, u can use this for any niche or field,

very easy to customized and lot of attractive templetes and modes also available to customized blog.

Thanks for elaborating this IPB thing to us. I already read that site.

As what others say, better stick in using Wordpress as a blog hosting site. I do recommend this a lot but if you are new in blogging better use blogger.com

For starters Blogger.com is much more recommendable.

install wordpress, do it
and the numerous free themes template is what i like most
