Links from blog.
It is a fact that Google and Yahoo count link once from ip and the same domain. It doesn'tmatter if website linked your resource from different pages or even sitewide... search engines still count it once.
But what about Blogspot, LiveJournal... if 20 different bloggers linked you from their blogs, does it count like 1 link ?

I would say no. It counts 20 times even if all the incoming links are from other Blogspot blogs. Each Blogspot blog is a domain even if it has a .blogspot in it. At least this is how it appears due to Technorati links and PR success.

If that were the case, I'd like to read your source.....I've often believed that sitewide links have just as much effect as a single link does, but I haven't been able to confirm it yet.

I concede on the sitewide links comment, but that's not what I was getting at.
I was trying to say that each YXZ.blogspot.com counts as a separate site. Meaning if abc.blogspot.com, def.blogspot.com, ghi.blogspot.com, and jkl.blogspot.com link to you once each, that counts as four incoming links, not one.
I have no proof, except anecdotal evidence. For instance, they must be treated like separate domains on Alexa or how else could two blogspot sites have different ranks. One of my blogspot sites is Alexa 325,000 while another is 400,000, etc (and the main blogspot page is Alexa 15). Unless Google, Yahoo, et al function differently than Alexa (and Technorati et al) on this, then I would say links from two different blogspot blogs are the same as links from two custom URLs.

I see what you are saying...I agree, I think that a sitewide link would be construed as a link that is on every page of a domain, or sub-domain, as the case may be. But in instances such as blogspot, each blog is given it's own sub-domain, which I think may be viewed similar to the way a domain is viewed in the eyes of Google. Alexa on the other hand, they only view a select few sub-domains as separate from the domain....Each blogspot blog will have it's own Alexa ranking, whereas each of my domains are sharing their ranking with the main domain.

I have a feeling blogger.com or blogspot.com or wordpress.com etc blogs are deavalued links. It's understood that a subdomain is typically seen as being different from a regular domain. However, it doesn't take a genious to realize that if ever subdomain counted as a different domain to link to you from then you could just add 1,000 unique subdomains to your own blog and pick up 1000 more backlinks.

that's not to say that they won't be spidered, followed, and cause the indexing of new pages. I just don't think a PR5 blogspot blog is going to carry the same weight as a PR5 yourowndomain.com blog.

If I remember correctly, Google was hit with a spammer some months ago that did just that. Eventually they were banned but they did do quite a number on the search engine.
I'm not quite sure I agree with the original poster. Google might do this but I know that Yahoo does not. In fact, from what I understand, Yahoo counts each page on a website separately which is why if you do a search for a link they will pull up most or all of the pages the link shows up on on a website.

that is exactly what I have found. Sitewide links are good for msn and yahoo, in my experience, and irrelevant with Google. But that's my experience....

I think that yahoo don't count sitewide link anymore as different links. They count it like 1 link and that's it!

If Blogger is link from other site they count links as 1. What is the effect of using sitewide links to a website or to a blog?

SE sees subdomain as a different site, so does the juices.
second is the multiple link from same site.most of it will be counted. but takes time.
