What's the best way to add my blog to my website?

I'm in the process of setting up a personal website and would like to add a blog to the home-page. Ideally one similiar to Major Nelsons on his main page (www.majornelson.com)

I'd prefer a blogging tool that's web based so that i can post to it from anywhere with internet access.

Any ideas?

I would recommend WordPress (http://wordpress.org)

Does your hosting provider have PHP and MySQL facilities ?

not at the minute it doesnt.

i have my blog at blogger.com. I was expecting like some html code to add to my site which displayed the blog.

I assumed that you didn't actually already have a blog!

So .. what are you trying to do again? Set up a hyperlink from your website to your blog?

not just rss feed headlines but with full blog details for each post etc.

i'm amazed at the lack of resources on this generally on the internet.

think that you have to:
Use third level domain
And use one of the most popular software. Using such kind software gives you opotunity to ask about this software anywhere.

figured it out in the end. i managed to get all the content i needed (rss feeds, twitter etc) through my blog setup on blogger.com.

I would recommend to used Wordpress or Blogger to your site. Or add the link of your homepage to your blog.

I went down the blogger route. set-up a blog site on there then linked my own domain - to forward all traffic to the blog.
