I am a writer. That's what I do. I also find blogs as an useful tool for archiving issues of newsletters and ezines etc.

And yes, I make money from blogging too.

I blog because I have a husband and 6 kids, all of whom ignore me. I figure if I opine to a larger audience, someone, somewhere, is apt to actually pay attention.

hmm i think it's a great source of expanding your social network. along with this it ofcourse helps to share knowledge and experience and definitely earning revenues as well.

fine... all of you talk about blogging. But how do you pick domain names for your blog (in your name or with blog ending). I heard that google ranks blog content with a separate domains than that of freely hosted ones...Nonethless, i intend to share my thoughts and make some money. hmmm....

Well I blog because it's a way for me to write about what I like and have no limitations to what I say and others can see it. As for do people make money from it? Yeah you can, but I use my blogs to hit different audiences and it's a great way to get backlinks and links to your other sites.

I have alot of my blog on different domains but usually in the subdomain and the blog is related to the main page theme.

That's true for some of the people who blog. Many have nothing to say but say it anyway, either because they want to sound important or because the blog is basically another MFA thing.

I blog because it helps me to become a better writer, it keeps me up to date on topics that i like but am sometimes to lazy to look up.

I also blog for money but that's my second priority.

yeah you're right!But not all of them,co'z doing a blog is very interesting..some are doing thid just for fun,some for business and others are for giving out infos..you know!it depends on your creativity...

different people have different reasons why they do blogging...some make money, some only to have a quick thoughts to be shared with others...though most of they create blog also to male money...they can put adsense or do some articles for a specific niche with payments from those sites who wants to be featured on their blog...
