I edit my blog posts when I see a spelling or grammatical error on my article.
And I think there is no effect if you edit but don't edit entirely the blog posts or the title.

Do you edit your blog posts?
I also edit only when spelling and grammar is concerned. In case if someone has commented and then you want to edit, i'll recommend to mention the edited part.
I edit posts when I spot a spelling or grammatical error or something similar.
If I add something to clarify or extend the original post, I'll do that with the preface "Update" or something similar.

I'll edit for anything that I think needs to be changed. Add some information, fix a link, whatever.
The key is do you tell your reader(s) about it. If I just messed something up and I go back to fix it really soon after the initial post, I just fix it and hope nobody caught my mistake.

I often find my grammatical error after publishing my post only I go for editing thereafter and even sometime add more points but avoid changing the title.
It's OK. As a matter of fact, my friend even edits comments if she finds spelling errors or other small mistakes. I think this is OK too, because it makes the less experienced commentators, or those who leave a comment in a rush, look good.
