What blogs are really about?

what do you guys think blogs are really about? I mean I think they have actually lost there touch since they have first came out, if you check my rss feed on the left where it says "what blogging is really about, under my picture

", I wrote about this, and link baits

.

What do you guys think?

I think nowadays blogs fall into three categories:

1) Bloggers writing about things happening in their life as a hobby and to share with friends. This would be similar to an online diary.

2) Professional bloggers writing about particular goods or services as a way of promoting a corporate enterprise. This would be similar to a corporate brochure or ad.

3) Professional bloggers attempting to monetize the site itself. This would be similar to a newspaper/magazine.

i just think they have changed big time

People don't speak there voice and there feelings as they use to.

Blogs provides news on particular subject or it is your personal online diaries where people would running account of their personal lives.

True, welll sheena, I just think they've changed a lot over time, and people use them for more as a marketing tool now more then anything which theres nothing wrong with that

Very interesting. I have heard new opinions there. I thought that blogs are sites were owners post their experience and thoughts and nothing more.

I'd rather agree with richrf's categorization of blogs. Ans what I've analyzed is that the element of monetization of blogs is ougrowing its outreach in one way or other. Whatever the pros and cons are, but it's getting a blogging industry.

blog topics may contain any each of the following:
- anything goes (just like a diary)
- certain topic like (travel, hotel, video games, etc.)
- for monetizing purposes (ads geek)

Some seo use their blog as a training ground for them to learn more how SE's ranks a site and really is a big benefit for us all!

Blogging is really about
- personal diary on which you can post article about your life
- share opinions about a specific topic
- way of promoting site so as to link bait and get traffic
- monetize and earn from your blog
- guides, tutorials and tips
- blog templates

While I think most blogs fall into richrf's list of three. There is another kind of blog. I'm not trying to sell anything on my blog and I'm definitely not an authority on products or marketing of products. I just interpret all of the information coming at us constantly from every direction and prioritize what about it that is really important. What I hope someone gets from my blog is that in most cases there are multiple ways of seeing things and not to take everything at face value. [link removed]

True because while blogs were meant to be an online diary, it is now a diary which can be stolen by any hacker. This is what has changed big time

It is means that if it is meant for online diary and i don't believe that it can be stolen by hacker or just a "spammer". Blog is a tools on which you can express your feelings to other or saying things that we cannot says.
