How important are your blogs' technorati rank to you? Do you think it is proper to use what the call "Authority" on determining the popularity of your blog?

For me, I think technorati rank may be important because some publisher programs use them to determine th value of a blogpost in your blog.

However, I think the way technorati determines a blog's authority is completely crap! I did an experiment increase my technorati rankings and a blog of mine entered the top 100,000 in less than 5 days.

... care to share what you did?

I agree, I think authority is a strange and misleading term ... I've always struggled with Technorati, never seen much traffic from there and never really found interesting blogs searching with it.

thats the bottom line in Technorati "its a traffic", but the question is.. did you get a quality traffic for Technorati? for that it will depend on how you use such thing, Technorati or other social networking..

No. There's no traffic. Technorati's authority is purely based on incoming links from other blogs to your blogs.

I don't think technorati ranks other websites than blogs.

It can determine how many blogs link to a regular website it cannot rank it.

Technorati ranks are based on how many blogs are linked to your site. I am not sure when links are not from blogs.

When you log-in to Tecnorati, you see an "authority:" then a number just below your blog.
