WordPress 2.2.2 Released

Just wanted to pass along that WordPress 2.2.2 was released the other day. This release includes only security and minor bugfixes so they should not cause any plugin or theme compatibility issues, so you have no good excuse not to upgrade.

Click here to see the list of bugs and security upgrades that took place. One of these fixes was a CROSS SITE SCRIPTING Vulnerability. These things are popping up all over the place.

Well you can either update your site, or wait for it to be hacked/attacked using one of the known exploits that the update fixes. It's your call. My upgrade took less than 5 minutes with no downtime.

I have to agree completely with you. Either upgrade to patch the security hole, or face the risk of having your site being hacked....

In fact, I still didn't make any update yet, & when I checked the steps I felt it was complicated with risk of some necessary plugins disabled etc, well, then updating WP will be my main task for today, thanks for your care

Surely thing. Hacker will always find the way to hack your site no matter how many times you did the updates stuff. Well, at least it can slow down them.

Just make sure you create a full backup of your site before you do anything, then you'll have nothing to worry about.

Post Teaser, the original developer stopped updating it & it wasn't compatible with WP 2.2, another guy took the project & fixed the plugin for the 2.2.1 version, but it didn't work with my 2.2.2.

Finally I managed to modify my theme to show previews of posts instead of full posts in index, archive & search pages .. happy end
