Which Theme ?
Hi Everyone,
I'm just looking for peoples opinions as to which theme I should use for my blog. The blog I want the views and opinions for is WP Thoughts.
Which theme do you think it better suited to the site, the one that is currently being used, or the theme that I had created for me.
I do like the theme created especially, but for some reason, the simplicity of the Brian Gardner theme just makes me feel attracted to it.
Which one would you choose if you were me?

I like your current theme. The second doesn't quite fit into a 1024 window which is what a majority of web surfers use these days. But I do like the look of it.

Yea the second theme rocks!
I would have your designer adjust it so it does fit the 1024 resolution and is centred.
I would use the second one after he/she fixes it.

I like the blue template because it has a clean and professional design.

The first one or your currently used template looks good. Clean, simple and cool color.

Pfft, keep the first one. Just obviously my opinion but the second one seems a little cheesy, but the first one seems professional.

In my view, you should keep the old one. The color sheme is easy but good.

Honestly? (in my humble opinion) I like the updated graphics in your 'created' theme, but the typography needs SERIOUS help! There are some terrific resources on the web explaining proportion and use of white space that will really help your new theme significantly.
... consider some color too, very bland.
I'm still new to these forums so I'm not sure if I can post links to these or not. So, search for these and use the parts that will work best for what you want to accomplish.
1. "The Elements of Typographic Style Applied to the Web - a practical guide to web typography"
2. "Thinking With Type"
3. "Web Style Guide, 2nd edition" - Typography chapter
Enjoy!

Andrew,
It's up to your own preference really. but if you are aiming for the professional look the first one is your best bet. However, if you're looking to spice things up or change the nature of your blog a little bit then go with the second one. Remember, either way just make sure that your audiences like em and that's the most important thing.

I say keep your old one also.. unless your designer can fix the resolution for the new one. You'll lose a lot of visitors upset that it doesn't fit in their browser.. but your old one looks fine to me. I agree with the other people.. your old one is very clean. It's all about the content.. with the right content your blog will look great no matter which of the two you choose.

Both needs improvement imho. Use the current theme as the new theme looks unfinished to me.
