my wife wants to start a home business and was wondering if it was possible and legal to use a blog page as a way to promote your product/services.

With the massive volume of blogs out there promoting sites I certainly hope it's not illegal... otherwise we're all criminals.

The only laws you need worry about are slander and fraud - and possibly some copyright/trademark. Always ask permission when using copywritten/trademarked materials.
