What Comes Next After Blog Traffic
No matter what others say, a blogger’s biggest discouragement is not getting traffic to our blogs. Some can be real cool to say that they are not blogging for an audience so they can’t be bothered whether they have traffic or not. They are just blogging for their own pleasure, but I have to say most will lose this pleasure if they blog solely for themselves. I have said this before and I am saying it again, if it is for self pleasure, then it will be better to write in an old fashion diary.
Blogs must have an audience. Whether it is just for self satisfaction to know that there are people out there who takes note of our writings or whatever other motives, it is crucial to have people reading our blogs in order for us to find the spirit and encouragement to carry on. So bloggers do what is necessary to get their blogs noticed and some, unlike this blog, does gets noticed in a big way.
So one day after blogging for months or years you find yourself with a readership base of a few thousands. What come next? It is something that many never took into account when we started blogging. The thought of having thousands of readers one day never crossed our minds and we never dreamed that we could achieve so much. Do we still blog the way we do happily day after day? Or do we leverage the number of readers to take our blogs to a next level?
I have seen bloggers that are so pure in nature that they simply refuse to have advertisements of any kind to tarnish their blogs or monetize their blogs in any way. Yes, they keep up with ways to make their blogs grow and yes their blogs does keeps growing and growing but that’s about it. All they want is a name if the vast sphere.
Like every blogger, I too dream of the day when this blog has many thousands of readers. I too, dream that this blog will be a self sustaining blog, able to help me pay for my mortgages. That remains a distant dream but hopefully, not an impossible dream. What would you do if you have thousands of readers reading your blog everyday?

To be honest, I really did start my blog just because I wanted a few articles on the web that would stay forever, about a few of my favorite artists, and the subculture of Detroit and Chicago when House, and Techno started...it was when I noticed that people actually read a few of the articles and left great comments, that I decided to make it a "real" blog.
I will probably never get 1000's of readers everyday, but the ones who come back keep me going, as well as the artists and management companies that send me promos.
I am actually having fun just building it, to see if I can compete with the "big boys" that write about the same thing. (There are only 2).

You can always get more traffic. Of course, once bloggers have a lot of traffic, they usually start to concern themselves with how to make the most money from that traffic.

Diversify, start new blogs in new but related areas, link up with other successful bloggers and generally share the traffic and the buzz...

What comes next after traffic?
If you really want to make the most out of your blog and earn from it, "Money" probably comes next.

Wow, that is a really negative mindset. A blog is just a website.
Add content, promote, monitize and repeat.
You just keep doing that until you retire.
Its the same thing Yahoo, Google, Myspace and every other site does.
Thats the formula.

monetization comes after traffic but there is nothing wrong in it if the ads tie into your main content.
if we look at the main news agencies, like Times, BBC, they also have to survive off advertisements else it is almost impossible for them to constantly churn out content for the public.
